Trans-Pacific Cruise - 2018 - Tahiti, Moorea and American Samoa

TAHITI

It took five days to reach our third port of call, Tahiti from Hawaii. Five days at sea flew by quickly. We kept ourselves busy with lots of activities on board from attending port lectures, exercising in the gym, taking dance lessons to playing Trivia contests. Sometimes we relaxed in the jacuzzi, enjoyed the music and people watched with a hamburger lunch by the poolside.

We arrived in Papeete on October 5 with an overnight stay. The French Polynesia, Tahiti is known for its Polynesian charm, great tropical climate, colorful culture and landscapes. We took a guided tour to visit many famous tourist attractions on the island. The guide entertained us with her ukulele and singing the island popular songs along the way. It was a good tour. We came back to town late in the afternoon. The market was still open. We had time to shop and to enjoy our walk around Papeete.

MOOREA

It was very nice that we had extra time to enjoy an overnight stay in Tahiti. The next morning, we arrived in Moorea. The island is much smaller than Tahiti, but it also is a popular tourist destination in this French Polynesian area.

PAGO PAGO

After a few days at sea, we docked in Pago Pago Harbour, American Samoa on October 9. We feel like home in America. The harbour located on Tutuila Island is well shetered from wind and rough sea and considered the best protected harbour in the South Pacific Ocean.  Pago Pago is the primary entry point for visits to National Park of American Samoa.
