Special Birthday Celebration - 2018

Paul's BIG Birthday is coming. It's not easy to plan a surprise birthday party for him. We live in Texas while the rest of our families are scatered from coast to coast. With lots of help, we managed to surprise Paul with three birthday parties. The first one was in North Carolina. The second one was in California and the last one somewhere in the Pacific ocean.

Andrew and family had just moved back to North Carolina a few months earlier.  So, we took a road trip to visit them and their new home in Hillsborough around Labor Day weekend. Andrew helped in planning a surprise dinner party for Paul at Radius Pizzeria on Churton Street in Hillsborough.  We had a banquet room for the evening. Michelle flew in from New York to surprise her dad. The Clays, our former neighbors from Raleigh (Rose, Paul and Gail) and Paul's former IBM friends came to join in the celebration. Paul was very surprised. We all had a great time celebrating Paul's birthday with family and friends!

Happy Birthday ! (Michelle's Birthday is also in September)

The next surprise party was in Los Angeles, CA. Good excuse for us to be in Los Anges was to catch our Trans Pacific cruise leaving LA late in September. It took a bit more planning than the first one. Mary flew in from AZ while Dee and family drove down from Fresno. Mark and Gayle lead the Landstroms (Dee, Dennis, Eileen and Mary) to Bosava restaurant while the Ngo siblings helped planning the big surprise. The 7 dinner courses were delicious and fun. The birthday cake was very whimsical and decadent. Paul had a good surprise and enjoyed seeing everyone.
