On a beautiful Septermber California morning, we embarked the Golden Princes for a 29 day Trans-Pacific voyage from Los Angeles to Sydney. It was a great way to celebrate Paul's 70th birthday and also to visit our 7th and last continent of the globe, New Zealand and Australia.
Paul's birthday was the third day of the voyage. It was a leisure sea day and a formal evening to celebrate Paul's birthday in style with our dinner mates.

HONOLULU
Our first port of call was: Honolulu, HI. Our friends Jeni and Marvin Koshi live on the island and they happened to be home the day our ship came in. As a matter of fact, they could see our ship from their house on the hill overlooking the dock and harbor. They picked us up from the ship and were our tour guides all day long. We visited the Pearl Harbor Memoial, had a delicious lunch in China Town, visited the Hawaii Captial Historic District and the Kalakaua's Iolani Palace, Dole's Plantation, drove around the beach, stopped by their beautiful house on the hill and the yummy Vietnamese dinner in the Vietnamese part of town before taking us back to the ship around 10:00pm. We had a great time with our friends and enjoyed visiting famous tourist attractions in Honolulu.

Thank you, Jeni and Marvin for making our stopt in Honolulu a wonderful and memorable one!
KAUAI
The next day, our ship docked in Kauai. The port terminal was near the Nawiliwili Beach Park. It rained on and off, heavy at times. We took a sight-seeing tour bus for a short while and spent some time at Walmart, shopping for a few sundry items and using the internet connection at the McDonald's restaurant.
