With Covid restrictions lifted, we resumed our travel. Our feature destination of the Galapagos has been long overdue. We finally went to Ecuador for a two-week trip with Quito, the Galapagos and the Amazon in February 2023. We were concerned about the rain as the forecast predicted of rainy days ahead.
Good thing about going to Ecuador was that the flight was quite direct and not too long. Only a quick connection in Miami and a less than 4 hour flight to Quito on American Airlines. As a matter of fact, Ecuador is in the same time zone with the East Coast and its currency is US Dollars!
Our hotel, the Hilton Colon located in the Mariscal area, known as "Gringo land". It's about 2 miles to the Old Town Quito. Parque El Ejido is around the corner of the hotel . Market, boutique shops, restaurants are in walking distance.
