Sibling Reunion - 2019 - Houston, Texas

Houston rolled out the red carpet to welcome Dee, Dennis, Mark, Gayle, Mary and Kevin on Memorial Day weekend of 2019. We were delighted to host the three day event. All of us looked forward to play tourists at some of Houston's top attractions as well as enjoying some of Houston's fine restaurants.  After twisting some arms, we agreed to spend one day at NASA and one day touring Galveston Island. Cousin Brad and Suzanne invited us over for a visit and refreshment after leaving NASA as they live nearby. We had a great time.

HOUSTON:

Houston, like many big cities in the US has great tourist attractions worth visiting.  However, there is only one "NASA" in the world and Houston is it's home.  Visiting NASA should be first on your sightseeing list if you go to Houston.  Houston is also a food lovers paradise.

GALVESTON: It was a good "beach" day to visit Galveston Island, one of the best attractions Texas has to offer. It's only an hour drive from Houston.

Galveston was and still is a very busy commercial shipping port in Texas.  A lot of money was made in Galveston with it's shipping industry.  Many stately Victorian mansions were built and have been preserved and restored to their glorious past. We took the city tour to see these beautiful 19th century homes in the historic downtown. We visited the Bryan Museum, one of these restored historical homes and toured the Pleasure Pier, the Seawall area and the Strand historic district. We stopped to watch the movie "Great Storm of 1900" from the famous Pier 2 building on the Strand.

To have the whole theater for ourselves. Nice!

We did not forget to have an early birthday celebration for Mary.

Great time! Fond memory!

Happy Birthday, Mary! So glad to be with you on this special occasion

That left us one more special place to have Houston's foodie esperience: Kim Son Dim Sum!
