Dubai - United Arab Emirates - February 2025

Our first visit to Dubai was back in 2019, on our way home from India, where we spent four wonderful days exploring the city. This time, our stop was much shorter - just a single day in Dubai as part of our African cruise, right before we set sail to cross the Arabian Sea toward the Indian Ocean.

From the Dubai port, we took an UBER straight to the Old Souq at Dubai Creek. On our last trip, we cruised the creek on the traditional dhow, but this time we decided to explore the Al Seef district. We enjoyed strolling past the bustling souk, unique shops, lively cafes, restaurants, and art galleries along the waterfront of historic DubaiCreek.

Leaving Al Seef and Dubai Creek, we headed over to the iconic Burj Khalifa, Dubai Mall and Burj Khalifa Lake to catch the famous fountain showcases. While these light and music shows are usually a nighttime highlight, we were pleasantly surprised to find a daytime show at 1:00pm on Tuesday. We enjoyed a lovely lunch inside the Dubai Mall and stayed to watch the spectacular fountain show right afterwards.
