Malta - Mdina and Rabat - September 2023

Mdina is known for its titles as an "Old City" and "Notable City", is a fortified city in the Northern region of Malta which served as the island's capital in the medieval period. The city is still confined within its walls but remains the center of the Maltese nobility and religious authorities. Mdina is contiguous with the town of Rabat, means "suburb" and has a much bigger population. Mdina is nicknamed "Silent City" after experiencing a period of decline over centuries. Nowadays, it is one of the main tourist attractions in Malta.

There are historic and monumental buildings around Mdina including the city walls, Mdina Gate, St. Paul's Cathedral, St. Paul's Catacombs and museums etc...
