Douro River Cruise - Castelo Rodrigo and Vega de Terron (Spain) - Portugal, October 2023

Castle of Castelo Rodrigo is a medieval castle in the Figueria de Castelo Rodrigo region. It has a fortified wall. The ancient town of Medieval Village of Castelo Rodrigo still has many of the buildings well preserved. Presently, around 50 people live "within the walls" of the village.

Parish church dedicated to " Our Lady of Rocamadour" who gave water and food to pilgrims on the way to Santiago de Compostela.

There are some small guest houses for pilgrims on the "Camino de Santiago".

In this medieval village, Christians, Jews and Muslims lived , worked and worshiped in the same town.

We took the bus back to the ship which is now docking in Vega de Terron, a border city of Spain for overnight.
